What email platforms are supported?
AuthorSwap currently connects with MailerLite — the connection powers automatic swap confirmation and creates a draft for every accepted swap. More providers are planned: tell us which platform you use at support@theauthorswap.com and we’ll email you the day yours is supported.
Do I need a large newsletter to use AuthorSwap?
What genres are supported?
How are swaps different from BookClicker's solos, features, and mentions?
Instead of fixed labels, every AuthorSwap swap states how many partners (books) will be included in that newsletter — 1 is like a solo, a few is like a feature, many is like mentions. You set the count, and you structure your email however you want.
I'm coming from BookClicker — how do I set up what I used to offer?
If you offered solos, offer 1-partner sends. If you ran features, offer whatever partner count you actually put in a feature — 2, 3, 4, whatever your real format is. If you did mentions, offer higher partner counts. Same newsletter, same formats you already use — you’re just saying the number out loud now and have the flexibility for your newsletter to look how you want.
Do I still create my newsletter in MailerLite?
Yes. When a swap is accepted, AuthorSwap creates a draft in your MailerLite for that send; you add your covers, copy, links, and formatting. The draft is also what powers automatic confirmation. AuthorSwap never sends on your behalf; only you press send.
Why do I need a custom-domain email address?
It’s a MailerLite integration requirement — personal addresses like Gmail can’t be used. Most newsletter authors already have a custom domain, and if you don’t, one costs a few dollars a month and improves your newsletter deliverability everywhere.
What is the reputation score?
Every author has a public reliability score built from confirmed sends, starting with their very first swap. When you choose a partner, you can see who actually follows through.
